New podcast: Rescue on Fractalus!
“And don’t call them V-Wings – that’s not correct terminology.”
One of the very first games out of Lucasfilm’s freshly-formed games studio, Rescue on Fractalus! was – if nothing else – a technical tour de force in its day.
Leon, Chris O’Regan, Chris Worthington and Jesse clamber aboard their Valkyrie-class rescue ships to see if, 40 years on, there’s anything else worthy of note that remains.
Beware of Jaggis in disguise.
Available now from your podcast provider/RSS feed/Spotify.

New podcast: Turrican (early access)
Buttery-smooth 8-way scrolling and 1300 screens of run and gun platform shoot-'em up action on 8 or 16-bit. That was the promise delivered upon by Rainbow Arts' Turrican in 1990.
Leon, Chris Worthington, Dan and Karl discuss this once highly-rated European product's aspirations towards more elegant, Japanese-style design and sensibilities, as well as that legendary musical accompaniment on the Amiga.

New podcast: Dark Cloud
“The Dark Genie’s power surges—stand or be erased.”
In 2000, Sony needed an RPG for its new powerhouse console, the PlayStation 2. Perhaps surprisingly, it chose to partner up with newly formed studio Level-5 who would go on to create an action RPG inspired by The Legend of Zelda series. The first in a rich tapestry of games that have come out of Level-5, Dark Cloud remains a slightly odd beast.
Chris Worthington, Brian and Chris O'Regan unpack it all here.

New podcast: Sin and Punshment (early access)
Whether you consider it to be an on-rails shooter or a 3D run and gun with auto-scrolling, few would argue against Sin and Punishment being a sometimes overlooked but glinting gem in the N64's library.
Leon, Chris Worthington, Michiel, Ryan and guest S&P superfan Mark MSX of The Electric Underground dissect Treasure's year 2000 blast in the usual Cane and Rinse fashion, along with correspondence from the listeners and community.
